Our family was ready for fun in the sun this summer so we escaped to the Florida Keys. We got the chance to visit Hawks Cay Resort in Duck Key.
My husband and I have been out of the country and we like the Caribbean feel of resorts. I will say that you totally will get the Caribbean vibe at Hawks Cay. If you’re looking for a family vacation that feels without the hassle of leaving the country at the moment I suggest checking out Hawks Cay Resort.
Where to Stay
There are so many options on lodging when you visit Hawks Cay. We stayed in the main resort hotel in a Waterview queen guest room. We had a private balcony overlooking the resort pool and lagoon. It was simply breathtaking.
You also have the option to rent a villa if you want to bring the whole family and they even have presidential suites! Something for everyone.
Pools, Pools Galore
The one thing I love the most about Hawks Cay is the many pools they have, you will seriously never get bored of swimming. There are six places for you to swim and each one has its specialty.
Resort Pool
The resort pool is where the action happens. They have entertainment, music, and even fun family games. They did Disney Trivia when we were there and it was so much fun. They even had a fire pit if you just wanted to chill and watch the stars under the water.
Oasis Cay Pool
This is the adults-only pool. They have cabanas you can rent that are perfect for a relaxing and quiet day at the pool. They also have fun games, food and drinks too!
Pirate Ship Pool
This was a super fun pool. It’s located in the Coral Cay zone for kids. The water is shallow and they have a really fun ship that the kids can play on.
Coral Cay Pool
This is a family-friendly pool near the pirate ship pool. The pool is surrounded by pristinely manicured palm trees and shadowed by canopies of lush banyan trees. The nearby Coral Grill has snacks and refreshments. You can also take morning fitness classes like yoga in this area.
Sunset Pool
Finding this pool is like a scavenger hunt, it’s tucked away from everything. It’s in the Sunset Village area. Super cute pool, we went to check it out and take some family photos.
Saltwater Lagoon
This is your Florida Keys ocean at the enclosed Saltwater Lagoon. The lagoon is fed straight from the ocean, raising and lowering with the tides, and is a Florida Keys attraction found exclusively at Hawks Cay. You can do activities like rent paddle boards, watch dolphins play or keep a look out for sea turtles swimming in the harbor.
Things to do
There is no shortage of things to do while you are visiting Hawks Cay. I will say that the one thing I really loved is all the kids’ activities. When you check in they have a pamphlet for you with all the activities that happen on the resort. There is fun pool music, games, and at the kids center they have coloring, challenges, and also bike riding! We rented bikes and rode over to the sunset pool which is located in Sunset Village. Your family will certainly be entertained when visiting Hawks Cay.
Food at Hawks Cay
You have many dining choices when visiting Hawks Cay. We mainly ate at the Marketplace which has a starbucks and tons of grab and go snacks and food. We opted for Pizza many nights. We also visited Angler and Ale which has some of the best seafood in the Florida Keys! We sat by the water and just enjoyed our family time together. I had to check out the key lime pie because… the Florida Keys duh!
We recommend Hawks Cay 10 out of 10. It’s a really great family resort with so many things to do. You will never get bored, there is something for everyone.
