This is a sponsored post on behalf Church’s Chicken and No Kid Hungry. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Tis’ the season! The holidays are right around the corner and it’s time to gather with your family over dinner to celebrate. To get in the kitchen and cook your favorite meal or to just hit up your favorite restaurant.
However, not everyone has these privileges. Some people don’t even have the liberty to eat when they want or can’t even afford groceries for their family. Among those who are less privileged and hungry include children. There are more than 13 million kids in the United States that live in “food insecure” homes. This means that these families rarely have enough to eat. Hunger is a problem that most often affects low-income families.
Many families and children rely on federal nutrition programs. These programs include SNAP, WIC, and the national school lunch program and from organizations like NoKidHungry. These types of programs are really critical for families in need. In 2016 alone, 59% of food-insecure households reported participating in at least one of these programs during the previous month.
How Can You Help?
Glad you asked! I’m happy to partner with Church’s Chicken to help spread the word about ending childhood hunger. You can help too by heading to your local Church’s Chicken and purchasing a meal and a large Fanta in the limited edition No Kid Hungry cup and they will donate a portion of the proceeds directly to the organization. Speaking of Fanta, I LOVE me some Fanta because it’s fun, vibrant, and bold just like me! Duh! And I love partnering with brands that I truly love and who support amazing causes and that’s why it is so important for me to give back by donating to No Kid Hungry. And you can do the same just by eating at Church’s Chicken.
Don’t live near a Church’s Chicken location? You can donate directly to NoKidHungry.org/churchs

November 28, 2018 at 8:32 amThanks for sharing! As an educator, I deal with so many children that do not have food at home and this time of year when we are out over consecutive days, I’m always worried for them. I will share this initiative with my colleagues! All Church’s Chicken across the country, right?

November 30, 2018 at 3:15 pmGrowing up Chruch’s was one of my favorite places to eat. That chicken could cure anything that was wrong in my life. I miss having them around, but I love that they are giving back and that we can support online. No kid should ever go hungry.
