Is it just me or did daylight savings change things? If you are like me, then you might feel you can’t find enough time to spend together with your family. Look, my life is far from perfect. I can’t always cook dinner, sometimes I am too tired to play with my 3-year-old, and sometimes I don’t even want to talk to my husband. From cooking meals, doing laundry, and going to work, it often means less time moms get to spend with loved ones. Of course, our work, marriage, kids, and feeding our family are all top priorities, but there are also healthy approaches which don’t require moms to feel so out of control. We don’t always have to feel the pressure of unattainable standards. Here are some tips I have learned to help save time on everyday responsibilities and spend more time with your family, resulting in a happier mom!
Use Your Resources
Girl, use what you’ve got! Take advantage of every existing resource you have. Ask your partner or husband to prep dinner before you get home or pick up the kids from school. Hire a cleaning service to clean your home so you can spend more time with your family. Coordinate your errands by location so you can finish as many as possible in one trip (this saves lives!) If friends or family members ask to help out, take their offer, trust me! The more time you can spend cuddling on the couch with your family, the happier you will be!
Involve the Kids in Housework
My daughter loves to fold clothes so I let her help me. She loves putting her clothes away too which actually helps me! I like to play a clean-up game too! She loves joining because I make it fun instead of a chore that I hate. Involving Riley with chores is huge because the older she gets, she will be fully equipped to help me out! It’s a WIN-WIN!
Simplify Your Routines
Both my husband and I work a full-time job. So quality time during the week is limited. I’ll be honest, I used to feel like I never had enough time and family time had to be a big thing. Truth is, it can be as simple as bath time with your child. If you’ve been following me for a while, I recently shared we have been using Ivory at bath time. We are still using Ivory Original 3-bar which has a new look but is still the same pure soap. Ivory has been trusted for 138 years and the products are 99.44% pure – another reason I trust this brand! Riley is enjoying the Ivory Original Body Wash for her bath time bubbles! I love how gentle it is and that it is free of dyes and heavy perfumes. This is especially good because Riley has very sensitive skin. I love the simple ingredients in Ivory products. It makes my routine so simple because I don’t have to search for different products to use for each family member. My husband and I also use the Ivory Free & Gentle Body Wash with Pear & Sandalwood which includes the #1 Dermatologist-Recommended moisturizing ingredient. I love how nourishing each product is on our sensitive skin.
Organize and Figure out Your Priorities
Give up trying to be perfect. When you give up trying to be perfect, you create more time for yourself and your family. It’s a good idea to get off social media and stop comparing yourself to moms on Instagram who may appear to have it all together. Take time to figure out what your priorities are and pursue them. Spend time doing the activities which make you feel happy or less stressed. Spend time on what’s important to you.
These three tips helped me increase family time and reduce stress. Life doesn’t have to be stressful. Take time to enjoy your family. Always remember you don’t have to live up to anyone’s standards but your own.

March 22, 2018 at 7:02 pmI maximize family time by finding family friendly events that we will enjoy. Its me and three guys so it can be challenging at times. We enjoy super hero movies together so we always make sure we catch the latest DC or Marvel movies together. Thanks for the tips! …applemacg
