I’ve been a mom for a little over 2 years now and I can say that wash day is not my little ones most favorite day of the week. I try to make it fun for her since its something that has to get done in order for me to maintain her healthy hair. I know I am not the only mom who dreads wash day with their little curly. So I came up with 4 tips to make wash day easier for you and your little one!
Use a pool noodle or yoga mat for head comfort:
This is like a little hack that I learned. I wash my little one’s hair in the kitchen sink so she lies on her back so that her head can go over into the sink. I use a pool noodle or yoga mat for her neck support. Sometimes it can be foreign to your toddler or little one leaning back to get their hair washed. So I think this hack helps a lot with comfort.
Play A Game
Make wash day fun. Last week I created a scavenger hunt for Riley and I, and she found all the hair products around the house before wash day! I gave her a little treat for finding our tools for wash day. I let her win of course š Making a game out of it helps put her in a fun mood and she thinks getting her hair washed is fun!
Sing a song
One of my blogger friends @Itsdaynadayne mentioned that she sings a song with her daughter to make wash day easier. I thought this was a super cool idea! She said that her daughter totally forgets she is getting her hair washed because she is so into the song they are singing! This is brilliant because it takes their mind off the actual task at hand! Go MOM!
Ipad/Phone
Ryan’s toy review to the rescue like all the time LOL! My daughter loves watching Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, or Ryan’s toy review on her iPad. This helps me with the styling process after washing her hair. She is able to sit and get her hair prepped and styled.
