Pinterest, oh Pinterest how you have come into my life and changed it forever! I came across this super cute DIY ornament wreath and I had to give it a try for myself. I am beginning to really get into the DIY and Christmas spirit and this is the perfect addition.
There are several different versions on Pinterest, but I am going to show you my version of the DIY Ornament wreath.
Here is what you will need:
1 Styrofoam circle. I purchased mine from Joann Fabrics.
Hot glue gun (BE CAREFUL with this PLEASE)
You will need several glue gun sticks Like a lot of them.
Different size ornaments in the colors of your choice 🙂 I suggest getting some from your local dollar store to save your coins!
I used 3 different sized ornaments for this project.
Directions:
Prepare your hot glue gun and don’t hurt yourself. Make sure to be really careful with this. I burned my thumb a couple of times and it was not fun.
Take your styrofoam circle and start gluing ornaments around the outside. I had to puncture the styrofoam to fit the ornaments in. Use the same size along the inside and outside of the circle.
Once you complete gluing the ornaments on the inside and outside of the circle move on to the center.
I used different sized ornaments for this part. Begin to glue the ornaments together around the circle filling in all gaps. It easier to start at one end and work your way around the circle.
Once you complete that portion, there will be gaps. Use the smallest ornaments to fill in the spaces.
You definitely need to have patience for this project. It takes a lot of glue and a lot of ornaments but I got the job done! Yay me!! What do you guys think? I can’t wait to put this on our front door! I will get a ribbon and a door hook and viola! Let me know if you make your own!
Happy Holidays!!
