When I first started I had no idea where to start, what to do, or what to write. As long as you are creating valuable content for your readers you will never go wrong. There are certain types of blog posts that are powerful when it comes to sharing blog posts. Make sure you incorporate some of these blog post types into your content calendar.

1. A Roundup Post or List Post
Roundup and list posts do really well. People love these types of post and they always save them. They are great especially for new blogs because if you don’t have a lot of content yet you can repurpose other bloggers content on your blog. Creating this resource for your readers will be beneficial.
List posts help to streamline information into a numbered list post that is easy for readers to read, share and then put what they’ve learned into action. I also love it when people do lists posts of free things to do. Everyone loves FREE stuff.

DIY is where it’s at. Readers love finding posts that help them learn how to do something. How to’s and tutorial posts help you establish credibility and expertise.

I have learned that there are two kinds of review posts: reviews of a product or a post that compares-and-contrasts of multiple related products.

4. Secrets Posts
These posts do very well too. People love hearing secrets to if you have a secret strategy you use, create a post about it. An example is “The secret to growing your blog traffic like a boss.”
5. Infographics Post
Infographics are very popular. They are present information in a way that is easy to digest and they also help to provide lots of value. These types of posts get shared regularly.
6. Opinion Posts

Posts, where you suggest a strategy or make a claim often really, do well online. People tend to want to know why you believe in certain topics. My advice is to make sure that your post provides great copy and your visitors will keep coming back.

I’ve never done one of these posts yet, but I sure do love reading them. There is something just so inspirational about learning about other blogger’s journeys and seeing how they make income from their blogs. Sharing your growth strategy can help someone else. Blog series posts can be a great way to keep your readers coming back and also help them stay on your blog longer. Blog series usually is a series of blog posts that are spread out over a couple of days. Blog series are generally easier to read than one big blog post. They also usually help generate anticipation and excitement to read your series.
10. Evergreen Blog Posts
These types of posts are general posts. They are important because they always remain relevant and fresh because they are not surrounding a specific topic, holiday or event. They help boost blog traffic because they help drive traffic without you having to do much work. Types of evergreen posts include guides, case studies, DIY, etc.
